Dear Parents/Guardians,
In response to the reported number of Mental Health and Wellbeing Issues facing young people in north of Ireland, the Department of Education has been working collaboratively with other Government Departments and Agencies to develop a new scheme entitled “Text-a-Nurse”.
As this is a new service in , it is planned to introduce it as a pilot programme, but providing full coverage across all post primary settings.
This service uses a secure web based platform which allows a quick and easy way for young people to get help, advice and support from a school nurse confidentially.
Please find attached the letter issued by the Public Health Agency and Department of Education which will provide more detailed information about this service.
