Is í príomhaidhm Choláiste Feirste oideachas den chéad scoth a sholáthar trí mheán na Gaeilge.  Tugann muid faoi chuid riachtanas gach dalta – chun an tuiscint, na scileanna agus na luachanna a chothú iontu a bheas de dhíth le saol sona rathúil a chaitheamh.

Curaclam EC3

​

Tosaíonn an t-aistear foghlama ag EC3 le curaclam dúshlánach agus suimiúil ar sprioc leis réimse leathan de scileanna éagsúla a chothú agus fonn le foghlaim a spreagadh.   Trí mhodhanna teagaisc idirghníomhacha, measúnú chun foghlama agus foghlaim nasctha tras-ábhair, tugtar deiseanna foghlama chun úinéireacht a thabhairt do na daltaí ar a gcuid foghlama féin. 

Ag Eochairchéim 3 (Blianta 8-10)  déanann na daltaí staidéar ar réimse leathan ábhar ar a n-airítear:

  • Gaeilge

  • Béarla

  • Spáinnis

  • Eolaíocht

  • Matamaitic

  • Dearadh agus Teicneolaíocht

  • Oideachas Reiligiúnda

  • Foghlaim don Saol agus don Obair (Saoránacht, Forbairt Phearsanta, Infhostaitheacht)

Déanann achan dalta clár don fhorbairt phearsanta fríd an ábhar Foghlaim don Saol agus don Obair: Clár Floreo. Baineann an clár seo le tréithe athléimneachta don tsaol a chothu sna daltaí. 

 

Tugtar deis do na daltaí i mBliain a 9 GCSE Irish a bhaint amach.

 

Déanann na daltaí i mBliain a 10 Clár Hype a thugann oideachas do na daoine óga ar shláinte agus folláineacht maidir leis an atáirgeadh agus gnéas.

The Revised Curriculum

It is the primary aim of Coláiste Feirste to provide excellent education through the medium of Irish.  We are committed to the educational needs of every pupil – in order to help them develop the understanding, the skills and the personal values required to live a happy successful life.

 

The KS3 Curriculum

The learning journey at KS3 in Coláiste Feirste begins with an exciting yet challenging curriculum which is designed to develop a wide variety of skills and to engender an eagerness to learn. Through interactive teaching methodologies, assessment for learning and connected cross-curricular learning, teaching opportunities are provided to equip the pupils with ownership of their own learning.

At Key Stage 3 (Years 8-10) pupils study a wide range of subjects:

Additional programmes

All pupils complete the Floreo Project, a personal development programme through Learning for Life and Work. This programme focuses on building resilience for life.

 

Year 9 pupils are given the opportunity to complete the GCSE Irish qualification.

​

Year 10 pupils complete the Hype Programme, which focuses on educating young people on sexual and reproductive health and well-being.
